I was visiting my friend, Deb who blogs at jeremiah-2911.com when I saw that she posted a new version of my favorite Christmas song. It is sung by Pentatonix and it is sung so beautifully that I just had to share. Listening to this song always, always brings tears to my eyes. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
I hope you all have a wonderful, joyous Christmas. I will be taking a few days off to spend more time with my family, but I will be back to blogging again soon. Merry Christmas... :)

My goodness, can you believe that we are only a week away from Christmas? With Christmas just around the corner, I thought some of you might be able to use a good gift idea. I've been obsessing over this craft project that I've been seeing on Pinterest and today I was finally ready to give it a try. It's a handmade sharpie mug.
If your interested in learning how, all you'll need is a white mug and either a sharpie or a sharpie paint marker. I used a regular sharpie and I found my mugs at the Dollar Store. Just be sure to wash them before you start creating your 'masterpiece.'
Draw your design. I chose a snowman design that I saw online, but you can customize your mug any way you want to. Oh and don't worry, it you mess up, just wash it off and start all over again. It isn't until you bake it that the design stays on permanently.
I'm not an artist by a long shot, but the snowman looked easy enough.
I have to say, these mugs are incredibly easy and were so much fun to make. My daughter was supposed to create a mug, too, but the design she chose was a bit more complicated. Since it wasn't turning out quite the way she thought it would, she washed it all off and decided to start over tomorrow.
No, my mug isn't perfect at all. I actually made the smile too wide and hubby thought his nose should have been a little bigger. I'm still happy with the way it turned out and here's what the mug looks like now.
One last thing... people have reported the marker washing off in the dishwasher. If this is a project you're interested in trying, it's recommended that you hand wash it to keep your design intact.
Well, thanks again for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Blessings... :)

Good morning, how was your weekend? My weekend was uneventful. (Note to self: Complain to hubby that I'm long overdue for a date night).
Speaking of hubby, here he is holding the pot of pasta we had for dinner last night.
I baked an apple cake for dessert and boy was it delicious.
Now, I've been away from my computer for a couple of days so I need to catch up on my blog reading and see what you all have been up to. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week.

Happy Monday, my friends. I hope you had a fabulous weekend after Thanksgiving and you're slowly easing back into your regular routine. The day before Thanksgiving and the day of was a whirlwind for me and after all the cooking and cleaning, I wanted my weekend to be as lazy as possible. With that said, I didn't do much afterwards.
One thing I've been trying to do, is be more consistent with reading my bible every morning. It doesn't always work out the way I plan, but it's important to me that I put God first then the rest of the day seems to run just a little more smoothly. As of this post, I'm on 2nd Chronicles.
Also, my daughter was so excited when she found an old record player at the thrift store for $10.00. They even had a few old albums, too and one was a Christmas album. So, I went to visit my daughters at their apartment and we spent some time listening to records and talking. (Oops, excuse my hands in the picture.)
I skipped the turkey sandwiches after Friday and went out for lunch a couple of times. Once to Chick Fil-A...
... then another day, to a restaurant called Logan's.
It always feels so good to have somebody else cooking and cleaning up afterwards.
I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but my husband plays the guitar on the worship team at church, so I spent some time listening to him practice.
I wish you could hear him because he's actually pretty good.
So, that's about it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day and week.

It was raining when I woke up this morning. Of course, I'll take rain over snow any day of the week, although they are calling for snow on Wednesday. Oh and last night, I made a simple crock pot recipe that I just had to share. I found it on Pinterest and I only needed 4 ingredients. So go grab your crock pot, you're going to love this.
Easy Crock Pot Chicken and Stuffing
4 pieces of boneless skinless chicken
1 box of stuffing
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup of sour cream
1/2 cup of water
Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot
Top the chicken with the stuffing
Mix together the soup, sour cream and water
Then place the mixture on top of the stuffing. Cook on low for 5 hours if chicken was frozen, if thawed cook on low for 3 hours.
It came out great and everybody loved it!
Well, thanks for stopping by. If you try it, enjoy! Blessings to you.

Hello again. Are you a coffee or tea kind of person? I always love starting my morning with a delicious cup of coffee, but when the weather starts to get chilly, I tend to drink hot tea throughout the day versus having an icy cold drink.
Now, I may be a little late with this but, I've just discovered Oolong tea. Have you ever tried it? I've been hearing so much about this tea that I had to run out and get some. It has been said that Oolong tea might be one of the most beneficial teas out there. The health benefits are basically doubled because of the combined qualities of black tea and green tea. It's packed with vitamins and its good for your heart, skin, bone structure, dental health, it controls stress, diabetes and so much more.
Sometimes I like having something sweet with tea or coffee so I decided to bake some oatmeal raisin cookies.
By the way, the oolong tea was wonderful and as soon as I was finished, I immediately made a second cup. If you decide to try it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Well, I'm going to do a little more reading now. I'm on 1 Kings chapter 13. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. My weekend was nice. My daughters invited me to their apartment for an autumn dinner party. Everything was decorated so lovely for the season and the food was delicious, too. We started off with a wonderful salad with strawberries and blueberries.
This is where I sat.
I just loved the homemade place card they made for me.
We had chicken and pasta for dinner.
Then we listened to music and played charades. I hadn't played charades in a long time so it was so much fun. I got stuck trying to act out clues for the sparkling skin in the movie Twilight. After a few minutes, they did figure it out, though. After charades, we all had cheesecake. They even gave me an extra slice to take with me so that I could have some more the next night... and I did.
I have to say, I am so proud of my daughters and I thank God every day for them. I feel so very blessed to have them in my life. Thanks for stopping by. God bless you and have a wonderful week.

This morning I went to church like I normally do on Sunday. I always enjoy every part of the service, from the songs during the praise and worship to the sermon. This morning, the words in the sermon were very powerful and that message stayed with me throughout the day. After church, we stopped at a deli called Isaac's and picked up sandwiches.
My oldest thought it might be nice to have a picnic at the park. Well, it wasn't a typical picnic since it wasn't exactly planned, but we did have our sandwiches from the deli, chips and bottles of water so it worked out. Oh, this is what I ordered.
It's turkey breast with melted muenster cheese and thousand island dressing served on raisin toast. Then it's topped off with cucumbers and cole slaw. It was my first time having a sandwich this unique, but it was actually pretty good.
After our 'picnic,' we walked around for a while. It was a little windy, but it was a beautiful day.
Then I found a great spot to sit and read.
I just started 2 Samuel so...
... I still have a long way to go.
Afterwards, when we were back home, we watched another Redbox movie.
This was a very good movie and a definite tear jerker. I gave it a thumbs up. Well, today was a good day and I hope you enjoyed your Sunday as well. God bless you and have a great week.
