You Have To Try This!

attack of the funny animals (7)

I was visiting Liz's blog at Laws Of Gravity when I saw something fun from Entertainment Weekly. If you put in your birth date, not only does it tell you the exact day of the week you were born, but it also tells you what the #1 Movie was then and you can actually see the trailer, too. Oh and the price of admission the year I was born was a whopping $1.22... lol.

If you haven't done this already, you have to give it a try. Just click on the link below and watch what happens.

I was born on a Wednesday and Thoroughly Modern Millie was #1 at the time. The trailer was pretty cool and it was starring Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore. By the way, it was so nice of Liz to let me borrow this from one of her previous posts and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

So, what was the #1 movie on the day you were born?

Happy Friday

Hello, I hope you have all been well. I know I haven't been posting a lot these days, but the entire summer has been a wonderful one. Sun, warmth, girl's nights, picnicking by the lake, pancakes, family, friends, date nights, ice-cream cones, laughter, picking flowers... I have really been enjoying the season.

Well, this week was both relaxing and fun. We went to the movies to see Fantastic Four, my daughter's pick. It was okay, but not nearly as much action as I was hoping for.

I was happy to see that the Regal Cinema in our area was recently remodeled inside and the old chairs were all replaced with cushiony recliners. The new seats were very so comfy.

Oh yeah, leaning back in the chair in the theater while munching on M&M's was nice... I loved it.

Oh and last night, I made a pan of baked ziti for dinner.

The best thing about making pasta is that I don't have to cook the next night because there's so much left over... Score!

Strawberries were on sale at the grocery store this week so I picked up two containers. They were so good and sweet that I knew just what I wanted to make for dessert...

... Strawberry cake. I found the recipe on Pinterest and it turned out to be so good and moist. Hubby loved it so much, he had two huge slices.

Life Lately

Today, I am very honored and it is with gratitude and appreciation that I acknowledge my first 100 followers. Whether you have 'followed' since the beginning or only recently, I want to say a HUGE thank you. For those that have shared comments regarding the subjects of my posts. I truly appreciate your insights and personal connection. This is how all of you wonderful bloggers make me feel.

happy bot !!!
You know, one thing I've always enjoyed is going to the park and Pennsylvania has about a gazillion of them. Well, my family and I went to one of the smaller parks after church on Sunday and we found a very relaxing spot to sit and read by the water fountain.
By the way, I just finished reading The Old Testament and I'm so excited to begin The New Testament now. I've still got a long way to go, but I'm getting closer and closer to my goal of reading the entire bible... Woohoo!
I don't get to see my sister very often. She teaches 2nd grade not too far from Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Unfortunately, she only gets to travel back to the United States once a year so I only get to see her for a few days in the summer. Well, she just came to see me and we always have so much fun sharing new stories and re-telling old ones. We snapped our fingers and sang along with our favorites oldies and enjoyed some great movie nights. My youngest daughter made lunch for us one day... Pineapple chicken burgers with bar-b-q sauce instead of ketchup. They were so incredibly delicious.
We also did a little shopping. I think most of you may already know that I'm a big Jurassic Park fan, so I loved this fun top at Kohl's.
I've always admired these cute, little paint dipped tables. I wish I could think of a good place to put one in my own home because I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
My older daughter invited all of us to diner at her place and she prepared a wonderful meal. We started off with a salad that included spinach, blueberries, strawberries and sliced almonds. That's Panera Bread Fuji Apple dressing drizzled on top... yum.
She also made Tilapia fillets with rosemary and a lemon garlic sauce and pineapple stuffing with turkey sausage. (Yes, we are definitely pineapple people at my house.)
For dessert, fried tortilla chips sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.
Well, that's about it for now and as always, I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by. I am linking up with a few fun weekend parties. If you get a chance, visit these wonderful bloggers and join in on the fun.
Thank you again to my first 100 followers and to those that may simply return now and then or that simply stumble upon my blog…
Cheers to you!

Have a beautiful day
