Life Lately

I've been meaning to post a few pictures from the past few weeks, but that old saying proved to be so true... there just aren't enough hours in a day. One thing that my husband and I have been up to is saving for a really nice vacation. I wanted to use something a little different than an ordinary piggy bank so I just chose to use a jar that I've had for years now and cut out a label for it. My plan was to write out "Adventures' with an 's', but I ran out of room. Oh and hubby drew that cute little airplane on the side. We decided that we'll put in $10.00 every paycheck which is every two weeks then in one year, we'll see how much we've saved by the summer of 2017.

I'm also sharing a few pics from Mother's Day because my daughters made me such an amazing breakfast. They both used food colors and their artistic skills (which by the way, wasn't inherited by me), to prepare the coolest pancakes on the planet in the most brilliant shapes. Honestly, I was so impressed that they went out of their way like that.

Check it out, this was my plate.

They also scrambled up some eggs and gave me a side of applesauce in one of my favorite bowls. I was so stuffed, I couldn't even eat it all.
I also celebrated a birthday not long ago. Unfortunately, I had to work that  day, but my oldest daughter made me breakfast that morning, as well, before I went to work. It really surprised me because she had to go to work that morning, too. but she set her alarm clock at zero dark thirty and prepared banana stuffed French toast and scrambled eggs. I'd never even heard of stuffed French toast before, but now... I'm a HUGE fan.

Last, but not least, a while ago, I came out of this little sub shop one night and noticed that the colors in the sky were simply breathtaking. This photo was completely forgotten until I was searching in my phone... and there it was. So, I figured why not post it.

Well, even though we have plenty of time to figure it out, we've been tossing vacation ideas around, It has to be within our budget and a fun, but relaxing spot that we both agree on. There are so many possibilities that I'm glad we have a whole year to figure it out.

Anyhoo, that's about it for now. Until next time.

  1. Your posts are always nice to find, though few. They are quality and not quantity and I really enjoy them. Saving one dollar at a time has always been our way and it does work if you will just stick to it. Glad you had a nice Mother's Day with all of the special treats.

  2. Guess you've given up blogging. I really liked your style of communication and your great photos.

  3. This just came up on my blogger dashboard over a year after you posted it. How odd.

  4. Same as the above. Just came up on my dashboard. For a second I thought you were back to blogging!
